         π has even had its appearances in pop culture. In Star Trek, Spock was able to foil an evil computer by commanding it to compute π to the last digit. See it here. In the novel Contact by Carl Sagan, the scientists are able to unravel enough of π to find hidden messages from the creators of the human race and gave humans a deeper understanding of universe awareness (50 Interesting Facts About Pi). When the first 144 digits of π are added up they equal 666 which scholars think is the mark of the beast, (Sylte). There are websites that determine where a person's birthday is located in π. Find your birthday in π. Mine is located in the 9,014th decimal place. Pi Day is on March 14th because the date is 3/14 or 3.14. Pi day even has its own Pi Day official webpage and if you ever wanted to know how long until Pi day you can check the Countdown to Pi Day . Celebrities have been born on March 14th, Pi day, including Albert Einstein, Ansel Elgort from Fault in Our Stars, and Michael Caine who played Alfred in Batman (Sylte). During the famous O.J. Simpson Trial, the defense attorney argued with a FBI agent about the value of π . This argument was then used to show flaws in the FBI agent's intellectual judgement (50 Interesting Facts About Pi). A mysterious crop circle has even appeared in Britain with a coded image representing the first 10 digits of π (Sylte). There is even a cologne named after π (50 Interesting Facts About Pi). A doctor in 1888 named Edwin Goodwin claimed to have been supernaturally taught the exact number of π . He even proposed a bill in the Indiana legislature to copyright his findings. The bill failed to become law thanks to a mathematics professor who pointed out that Edwin Goodwin's method resulted in an incorrect value for π (50 Interesting Facts About Pi).

         Archimedes, who came up with the first theoretical approximation of π , came so enthralled in π and in circles that when Roman soldiers had taken the city of Syracuse he didn't notice. Then when he was approached by a Roman soldier, he yelled, Do not touch my circles and the Roman soldier killed him (50 Interesting Facts About Pi).

Christopher Pool created the Pi Phone Project which will list off the digits for as long as you are willing to listen (Breyer). It's too bad that he couldn't make the phone number the first ten digits of π.
